About Department
Research Centre : 1998
This department was started in 1985 under the able guidance of
Dr. S.B.Nimse . Then it was headed by Prof.R.S.Bhamare and Prof.L.S.Jadhav. Many conferences including IMS1997, International Conference and National Conference were organized by the department.
Currently 11 faculty members are working in the Department .We have established the Alumni Association under the president ship of Prof.R.S.Bhamare former H.O.D of the department .The built up infrastructure consists of spacious 3 classrooms for T. Y. B. Sc, M.Sc. I and M. Sc II Mathematics respectively and two fully equipped laboratories, one HOD office, two staff rooms each for Teaching & Non-Teaching faculty respectively.
The central library includes about 7517 books on mathematics including journals ,encyclopedias and periodicals. The departmental constitutes about 260 books .It is our honor to share that from last two years 9 students qualified NET/SET examinations and in this year one student completed Ph. D. Since establishment, every year some of our students are admitted to IITs for the higher education .Recruitment of our P.G. students is almost 100 %.

To be among the best mathematics departments in the state under Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and to establish a reputation as a centre for research and teaching in mathematics to motivate the students from the rural areas for the higher education.
